Hired Labour is seeking a motivated Trade Assistant to join the Blenners Transport workshop team at the Darra depot. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in mechanics who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You’ll assist qualified mechanics with servicing and repairs, help maintain fleet readiness and contribute to a safe and organised workshop.

Position Requirements

• Completion of Year 10 with sound results in Maths and English
• Experience in a transport or workshop environment (highly regarded)
• Current Driver’s licence (C class)
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong work ethic, physical fitness, and willingness to learn
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools safely

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist mechanics with servicing and repairs of fleet vehicles
• Ensure vehicles are available and moved into the workshop as needed
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation
• Assist Spare Parts with pickups and deliveries
• Book out parts used on jobs to specific vehicles
• Report hazards and follow WHS procedures
• Participate in toolbox meetings and training sessions
