About This Opportunity
Blenners Transport is seeking an Apprentice Spray Painter to join the workshop team at our Tully Depot. The Apprentice Spray Painter is responsible for learning and assisting with the preparation, painting, and finishing of trucks, trailers, and equipment while completing all apprenticeship and TAFE requirements.
The role involves developing spray-painting skills, maintaining quality standards, following safe work practices, and working as part of the workshop team to ensure repairs and painting tasks are completed efficiently and professionally.
Position Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Current Driver’s Licence; Forklift Licence (LF/TLILIC0003) highly regarded.
- Experience in a transport, heavy vehicle, or workshop environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good communication skills and flexibility to work additional hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete all TAFE training requirements, maintain training records, and actively develop spray-painting skills through both formal and on-the-job training.
- Prepare vehicle and equipment surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, priming, and assisting with paint mixing and colour matching.
- Apply paint coatings using spray-painting equipment, inspect finished work, and carry out touch-ups to ensure high-quality finishes that meet company standards.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, workshop documentation, and job records while working collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and productivity targets.
- Maintain workshop equipment, a clean work environment, and comply with all WHS, CoR, HACCP, and company requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team while contributing to safety initiatives, training, and continuous improvement activities.
